Good morning.
Last week (after finding out that I had mono) my computer's hard drive failed, and I lost my entire iTunes library. It's not that I wanted to throw my computer out of the window because of anger, I felt a weird sense of emptiness. Every song I had collected since about the sixth grade was wiped away. Fortunately, I discovered that I can transfer songs from my iPod back to my computer pretty easily, and I took my iPod out of my car to do so. This left me with my CDs and radio for the entire 4 hour drive home. So, I guess my question for you is, "What do you listen to in the car when you're on a road trip?" Here is my "roll-the-windows-down-and-blast-it" playlist.
1. Storm Warning -Hunter Hayes
2. Ants Marching -Dave Matthews Band
3. Life is a Highway -Rascal Flatts
4. Free Falling -Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
5. Chariot -Gavin Degraw
6. Corona and Lime -Schwayze
7. For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic -Paramore
8. A Little Bit Stronger -Leighton Meester
9. Hallelujah -Paramore
10. On the Road Again -Willie Nelson (Sorry, I had to)
So if you're ever stuck in the car watchin' the trees go by for hours, put on a couple of these tunes. Don't forget to roll the windows down though.

Mononucleosis.
According to Web MD, "Mononucleosis, also called "mono," is a common viral illness that can leave you feeling tired and weak for weeks or months. Mono goes away on its own, but lots of rest and good self-care can help you feel better." According to me, mononucleosis is the worst torture a kid (especially an ADD kid) could ever endure. I guess I should tell you that I have been diagnosed with the 'kissing disease'. (It's fine...go ahead and laugh). Aside from barely having the strength to move my arm...Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic. Aside form being stuck in bed for the past week, feeling like my throat is a ring of fire, and missing one of THE GREATEST line ups in ACL history, I can't complain. It's Saturday night, and I barely have the strength to sit up and type the blog, but I want to make a playlist for all of you sicklings or studious kids who tore their ACL. My 'I-wish-I-were-at-ACL" playlist.
1. Cinema -Skrillex
2. Paradise -Coldplay
3. Finally Moving -Pretty Lights
4. Gold Digger -Kanye West
5. Wake Up -Arcade Fire
6. Shutterbugg -Big Boi
7. First Day of My Life -Bright Eyes
8. Bottle it Up -Sara Bareilles
9. Bright Lights Bigger City -Cee Lo
10. Superstitious -Stevie Wonder (I am missing Stevie freaking Wonder...makes me sick..er)
Once again, if you need a playlist suggestion from a mainstream kid, I've got your back. I'll never let you down, folks. Thanks for being my pal.

Items May Have Shifted During Flight
Hello there.
How are you? Seriously, don't just skip over that question because you hear it all day long. Take a moment and really check in with yourself. How are you? Okay, enough of that deep shit.
I flew back to Austin a couple of days ago from my amazing weekend in Breckenridge and got slapped in the face with school work, but other than that I guess you could say I'm peachy. Anyway, as I was sitting on the flight trying not to think about the little girl beside me vomiting into a bag, I turned my music up. In that moment, as I was doing my best not to join in on the puke-fest, I found an escape. I made the perfect "if-you're-on-a-plane-and-the-girl-next-to-you-is-puking-playlist."
1. Valerie -Amy Winehouse
2. Shine On -Needtobreathe
3. The Beat -Ben Rector
4. Bold As Love -John Mayer
5. Flake -Jack Johnson
6. Dirt Road Anthem (Remix) [feat. Ludacris] -Jason Aldean
7. Moth's Wings -Passion Pit
8. Satellite -Dave Matthews Band
Remember, if you are ever stuck in a puny situation, this kid has your back. Just sit back and let my mainstream playlist flow through your ears. (Pun intended)
Peace, love, and simplicity.

Altitude Sickness
Hello again!
This weekend, I escaped the Texas heat and made a trip out to Breckenridge, CO.
Unfortunately, from the moment I stepped off the plane yesterday, I started to experience the worst altitude sickness of my life. If you haven't ever had a problem with the elevation, I will try to dramatically illustrate the way it might feel. Your stomach becomes queasy, your head pounds, and you can't take a deep breath to save your life-- that's all! I guess my question for you today is...What do you do when you feel sick? Sleep? Take a hot shower? Listen to music? Normally, I sleep the day away, but I found that with the right music, you can escape to another place outside of yourself. "How do I know what kind of music will make me feel better," you ask? Have no fear! This main stream kid has a few songs to start that perfect 'I hate being sick" playlist.
1. In Your Atmosphere -John Mayer
2. Angel -Jack Johnson
3. Untouchable -Taylor Swift
4. Hello World -Lady Antebellum
5. Daydreamer -Adele
6. Gravedigger -Dave Matthews Band
7. Wanted -Hunter Hayes
8. Twilight Serenade -Jason Myles Goss
9. Comfortable -John Mayer
10. Earth Song (Remastered) -Michael Jackson
I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day...take a deep breath for me.
Peace, love, and simplicity

miTunes are your tunes
Well, hello there.
If there is anyone out there (insert echoe)... Before you start indulging in this masterpiece, I would like to establish a few things. I can't say I have ever been a blogger (because in fact, I haven't.) There is a major possibility that I might not use the huge vocabulary and the clever, dry wit you might expect. I may not be the best at suggesting the coolest underground indie band, (but hey some one else will.) Actually, I will probably be a painfully straight-forward, main stream kid encouraging you to make a rediscovery of John Mayer's Room for Squares album (his best work in my opinion.) But, who knows. The top ten list on iTunes tells me that there are other main stream, music lovers out there. Other main stream music lovers who are also buying their music. (Two pluses in my book.) So, if you're Someone LikeMe You (great Adele song by the way), and you like those tunes on the radio, I will make you a deal. I will let you know what is going to be on the top 10 on iTunes before it is even there. You will listen to a song BEFORE the radio plays it three times an hour. Because in the end, miTunes are your tunes.
Peace, love, and simplicity.
